On Wednesday 28 November 2018, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Public Works' MEC Ravigasen Ranganathan Pillay joined all other Provincial Executive Council members during the Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) Cabinet Day for abaQulusi Local Municipality in Vryheid. Mr Pillay and his entourage were scheduled for Ward 22 of the municipality. His team comprised of Mayor Cllr Winile Nhlabathi of Pongolo Local Municipality, Mr. Mavundla Head of KwaZulu-Natal Department of Community Safety & Liaison, Ward Cllr Lawrence Dube and senior government officials.
