A Tribute to the Professionals who lost Their Lives in the Line of Duty

It was business as usual when the Provincial Infrastructure Coordinating Work Group (PICWG) convened its regular meeting that was held on Tuesday 30 April at the KZN Public Work’s O.R. Tambo Building Head Office in Pietermaritzburg. Mr Thulani Mdadane, the Deputy Director-General for Public Works’ Infrastructure Maintenance and Technical Support (IM & TS) serves as Chairperson of the Committee that comprises of representatives from different provincial government departments. The purpose of this committee is to coordinate anything and everything that has to do with infrastructure in the province.

As part of patriotism, affinity, solidarity and comradeship, the PICWG responded to a ‘national call’ of the Progressive Professionals Forum (PPF), which marked the 30th of April 2019 a remembrance day of solace for the professionals who passed on in the line of duty. Through ‘candle lighting’, a minute silent prayer session was observed. It was a moment where all in attendance had to find peace and open up a space for acceptance, even when circumstances prove too powerful to contain.
