Local Municipalities Register Progress as Zululand Shines

The 2nd EPWP Focus Week session that took place at the House of Traditional Leaders offices within the Zululand District in Ulundi on Wednesday 18 November 2020.

More ground breaking news was that of the five local municipalities, the Zululand District managed to scoop a positive milestone after successful reports on performance were registered by Nongoma, AbaQulusi and Ulundi respectively. This is quite an achievement that deserves praises. During a performance report presentation, Mrs Nokwanda Dube announced with excitement on how the three local municipalities managed to achieve such long awaited success after having battled to do so during the previous “service delivery” period.

It serves to be mentioned that Mr Dlamini, the Chief Director for EPWP once again reiterated that the onus now remains in the hands of all municipalities to ensure that they honour such gatherings as it would open way and means to place their individual challenges to such sessions so solutions be identified as a ‘collective’. He further made an emphasis on the formulation or establishment of an exit strategy for beneficiaries. Such strategy will indeed address the fight against of poverty on the part of the beneficiaries who seem to exit the EPWP programme for inclusion in another labour related section.
