On 28 August 2019 the entire KwaZulu-Natal cabinet paid a visit to the Greater Kokstad Muncipality as part of the Operation Sukuma Sakhe initiative. MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works Peggy Nkonyeni was deployed at ward six where she visited two projects and also engaged with the community at large. As women’s month draws to a close it seemed fit for the MEC to interact mainly with women as she visited a women’s cooperative which farms, harvests and sell their produce. MEC also went to visit a pilot housing project where the majority of beneficiaries are women.
