KZN Works

ETHEKWNI: Monday 09 June 2025, Addressing delegates at the Contractors Imbizo, MEC Martin Meyer, made a groundbreaking announcement that from now on all compulsory tender briefing sessions will be held virtually.

This was great news for the 300 contracts gathered in the room who previously had to travel long distances just to be physically present at the site briefings where they would be given the details of the project to be undertaken. This would often cost contractors both time and money.

During the event contractors also shared about several matters they wanted KZN Public Works and Infrastructure to address such as elevating women contractors to beyond just being sub-contractors, as well assistance in moving up the grading ranks, among others.

From here these documented issues will be strategically addressed and will form part of a blueprint document that will make it easier for contractors and KZN Public Works to work together to build KZN better.
