Cabinet Day brings the Department Closer to the People of Amajuba District

The KwaZulu-Natal Cabinet visited Amajuba District Municipality as part of Operation Sukuma Sakhe community outreach programme.

This service delivery drive created a conducive platform for the general communities including cooperatives to raise their concerns calling for government intervention.

MEC Martin Meyer who also serves as the MEC Champion for the relevant District was deployed in Emadlangeni Local Municipality’s Ward 3.

This is where the MEC recorded urgent concerns owing to infrastructure damage resulting from recent hailstorms which ravaged the area, including structural damages to the local UMzilikazi Secondary School establishment which boasts a cohort of 1800 learners.

The KZN Department of Public Works and Infrastructure in collaboration with the KZN Department of Education, is working around the clock to find long lasting solutions, like the delivery of more durable infrastructure with adequate capacity to withstand realities driven by increasingly extreme weather patterns.
