On 22 July 2026, MEC Martin Meyer was in the Ilembe District as part of Operation Sukuma Sakhe, which is a community engagement programme led by the Office of The Premier.
The aim of the programme is to bring provincial government closer to the people through departments.
During his visit which included Ward 13, among others, MEC Meyer, took stock of community issues which include the need for a local clinic, water supply, road infrastructure, power supply and various needs.
The MEC also took part in a handover of essentials which was jointly organized by KZN COGTA and KZN Public Works and Infrastructure.
