KZN Public Works hosts a series of Women’s Day Festivities

On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the Head Office female staff component convened at the Auditorium to celebrate the penultimate leg of the 2026 Women’s Day programme.

This follows a series of groundbreaking similar events recently hosted by the Ethekwini, Midlands and North Coast Regions of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Public Works and Infrastructure.

These high note commemoration events, which mark the 70th anniversary of the historic 1956 Women’s March against discriminatory Pass Laws, were successfully convened under the theme, “Empowered Women, Empower the Nation.”

Expert talks were centered around financial wellness and mental health, with focused workshop sessions on the practical implementation of the HOD’s 8-Principle Action Plan for Promoting Women Empowerment and Gender Equality.

The Department remains committed to the absolute recognition and rock-solid advancement of women empowerment in the workplace.
