First Webinar on Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle
Public Works staff members got an exciting opportunity to learn about how to live a healthy lifestyle on 5 March 2021.
This informative session was hosted by Employee Health and Wellness Section (EHW) via webinar with the main aim
of keeping staff members updated about living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It was vital for the EHW to host
such a fruitful event as it is crucial for employees to maintain a balance physically and mentally in order to function at
their very best within the working space.
The programme was scheduled for 13h00 and staff members were glued to their screens awaiting the webinar. Mrs
Nobuhle Mlotshwa from Employee Health and Wellness Section was the programme director for the day. She first
called upon Mr PW Duma, the Deputy Director General for Corporate Services for the opening remarks. Mr Duma
expressed his excitement for the great opportunity where staff members were exposed to new things about health.
The Employee Health and Wellness team invited Dr Kgomotso Mogapi who educated employees about the
importance of understanding how our body works and how it fights infections. Her speech was informative as she
was promoting good nutrition and regular physical activity, encouraging staff members to make healthy lifestyle
choices. The overall webinar was insightful, educational and a thoroughly eye opening experience on the
understanding of the human anatomy. With this very promising start, members of staff look forward to more webinars
of this nature that offer riveting and compelling presentations that will leave no stone unturned on the issues
pertaining to the mental and physical health of the employees of the department.
