Izandla ziyagezana programme is a Departmental initiative aimed at poverty alleviation and job creation focusing on labour intensive methods for manual clearance of vacant provincial land.
Main Objectives
- Provide job creation opportunities to the poorest of the poor households in poor communities, with special emphasis on women and youth.
- Empower women and youth by providing basic training on site clearance and life skills.
- Provide a cost effective system of maintaining provincially owned vacant sites pending the future use or disposal.
- Instill a sense of pride and ownership in the community through keeping a safe and clean environment.
