The program aims to capture the sentiments and concerns of local residents on service delivery issues. This particular Ward will get an update on plans to households with electricity as well as support for the mostly elderly residents in the form of SASSA grant assistance.
Vacant buildings here owned by KZN Public Works and Infrastructure will also form part of considerations into how they can better serve this community.
The next delegation stop is a project in Ward 5 in Nkandla which is the construction of the KZN Department of Agriculture offices. This project is an undertaking by KZN Public Works and Infrastructure.

MEC Martin Meyer was happy to say that the site for the R29 million project is active. He is also proud that leading the project is a female contractor alongside a female Community Liaison Officer. This is an important achievement as we strive to expand job creation opportunities for women and young people.
This project also has created employment opportunities with locals coming directly from the Nkandla community.
MEC Meyer proudly expressed that the record of women-led projects has always been among the most impressive, with projects completed on time and with no hassles along with a high quality of standard. It is this kind of outcome that our recently established She Builds Women in Construction advisory body aims to uphold across all projects that involve women in the province.
