





It became apparent that the project would be deemed an urgent one so as to fast track completion. Damage has been estimated at R58 million.
During assessments it also emerged that damage extended beyond the roof perimeter to include the walls and compromised structures.






“During the inspection walkabout, I noted the quality workmanship, which is something critical as adverse weather conditions are becoming a frequent occurrence. This now means that all our projects must factor in adverse weather disruptions like storms, hail, or floods, while this now calls for us to build our hospitals better so that more lives can be saved.”
