Ms Nomcebo Nxumalo

Ms Nomcebo Nxumalo is an accomplished business leader, professional quantity surveyor, and an advocate for transformation in South Africa’s built environment. She is the Managing Director of 6111 Consulting, a 100% black female-owned and managed firm based in Durban.
Nomcebo completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying at University of Witwatersrand. She has been practicing as a registered Quantity Surveyor (6111) since 2014, accredited by the South African Council for Quantity Surveying Profession.
Nomcebo has a passionate interest towards the development of green buildings and thus have acquired her GBCSA GSSA Accredited Professional certification and she aims to provide substance to the council.
She has completed a qualification with the University of Cape Town for the Advanced Diploma in Business Project Management and also ventured into studies at the University of the Witwatersrand undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Property Development and Management, which she successfully completed in 2023.
She started her career with Growthpoint Properties in Sandton, Johannesburg in the Property Development division, then joined RLB Pentad Quantity Surveyors in Fourways, Johannesburg as a Candidate Quantity Surveyor, she then joined Lungi Afrika Quantity Surveyors as a Professional Quantity Surveyor. Whilst at Lungi Afrika Quantity Surveyors, she had been working as the Chief Quantity Surveyor heading up the Development Bank of Southern Africa portfolio within the cost management and project management division. Nomcebo has undertaken working with the Development Bank of Southern Africa to assist a division close off on existing risk projects. Her level of project experience includes infrastructure developments for Basic Education, office developments, retail developments, industrial developments and commercial mixed-use developments.
With a strong voice for professional mentorship and inclusive economic growth, Nomcebo is passionate about empowering women and youth within the property and construction sectors. She is a member of the Women’s Property Network (WPN) and is actively participating in the CBE Built Environment Transformation Collaborative Forum Members, as being part of the Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Transformation Collaborative Forum (WEGE TCF).
